Joseph Wallace
Managing Director of Multhana
I, Joseph Wallace, recognise myself as Indigenous Man from Jirrabal Rainforest Aboriginal descendants in Far North Queensland in the Atherton Tablelands and the Juru Aboriginal descendants in Bowen, North Queensland.
Joseph Wallace is the Managing Director of Multhana, based in south-east Queensland.
‘Joey’, as he is known to his team and clients, founded Multhana for the core purpose of engaging the local Aboriginal Community and providing training and employment pathways and career development opportunities for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people in the Queensland cleaning, building and maintenance industry.
‘Multhana’ means “people coming together to help each other” in the Kalkadoon language, and perfectly sums up Joey’s approach to the business.
Joe’s passion for creating positive change for the Indigenous community comes from his experience managing Indigenous Affair programs and projects in the Government and Private Sectors, Masters and Bachelor qualifications in Indigenous Social Policy and Education and personal experience within the Indigenous community.
Every day Joe uses his passion and experience to influence local policy and strengthen the foundations which support Indigenous economic development. From encouraging participation in and improving access to skills development and jobs, to supporting the growth of Indigenous business and entrepreneurship, and assisting individuals in the community to achieve financial security and independence by increasing their ability to identify, build and make the most of their economic assets, Multhana is underpinned by the everlasting aim to bring people together to help each other out.
