Multhana joined CPB Contractors in recognising the traditional land on which the Bruce Highway Upgrade – Cooroy to Curra, Section D (C2CD) – Contract 2 project is being delivered on. Located in Gympie between Woondum to Curra, the C2CD project is situated on Kabi Kabi land.
Our Managing Director, Joseph Wallace spoke alongside Uncle Michael Douglas, a Kabi Kabi Elder, about shared reconciliation and the importance of collective consultation with Traditional Owners.
In conjunction with the Kabi Kabi First Nation People, the Department of Transport and Main Roads developed and implemented a Cultural Heritage Management Plan for the project, including how the Kabi Kabi will be involved in project activities with respect to cultural heritage monitoring and protection.

Uncle Michael is a Kabi Kabi Elder and Senior Police Liaison Officer with the Queensland Police Service. He has been awarded many accolades throughout his distinguished career in the service and is actively involved in local initiatives to strengthen Kabi Kabi ties to Country and promote mob to the wider community through education and awareness. Uncle Michael is a Native Title Applicant for the Kabi Kabi people.
Multhana are providing commercial construction cleaning on the Bruce Highway Upgrade – Cooroy to Curra, C2CD – Contract 2 project. This is Multhana’s third contract on Bruce Highway upgrade projects after being awarded the landscaping package (Stage 1) and construction cleaning (Stage 2) of the Bruce Highway Upgrade (Caboolture-Bribie Island Road to Steve Irwin Way) section.
